Master Photographer 1

Harry Callahan was born in Detroit, Michigan. Before becoming a famous photographer he studied engineering at Michigan State University, but dropped out returning to his work in Chrysler and joined the camera club. He started out teaching himself photography in 1938. He then met Todd Webb who also had a passion for photography and wanted to become a famous photographer too. Callahan had a talk with Ansel Adams and that made him become serious about his new work. In 1946 he was asked to teach photography at the institute of design in Chicago. Finally moved to Rhode Island in 1961 to establish a photography program at the Rhode Island School of Design. He later retired in 1977.

This picture by Harry Callahan is a very good picture. I like the way that he made sure to include the joints.

I am a huge fan of landscape photography. I absolutely love how the branches of the trees overlap eachother with the snow on the ground.

I love this picture because of the way he printed it with the car overlaping over and over again. The shading is awesome!

I love the way Harry Callahan takes his photos. He makes sure to add specific detail that the normal eye cant really see. His images speak to me in a way that not a lot of people can. He has given me many ideas on what I could do in the futer with the other pictures that I choose to take! Thank you Harry Callahan!
